Hi, I know it shouldn't make a difference if its Java or Grails, but my code (also copied from the same tutorial) is still working today (on the app server).
It took a matter of seconds for the mail to hit my inbox and thats taking into account a slowish undersea cable connection to Africa... i.e. it should be practically instantaneous. But as I say - I'm using pure Java.
