Thank you very much for your replies guys, for now that did not help a lot, but I will try to simplify my model. BTW Ikai, great work with GAE :) As far as DAOs are concerned, yes that is what I was saying (for the considered example, have JungleAnimalDAO which would update only the 'breakfast' field, and AnimalDAO which would update all its fields).
