I wrote a web app that lets you upload images and store them in app engine. it is very easy to use (and very easy to integrate in other projects). if you need such functionality, please consider using this one. To see how it works just go to showcase ( http://oisshowcase.appspot.com ) , create some albums upload some images and let me know what you think.
