(I thought I replied to this but it doesn't show up) After I posted the original report the app did update. Over the next couple of hours it would consistently take about 4-8 minutes to update. However, later in the day, without anything significant on my side, the updates became much faster -- about 1 minute -- and they have been that way since then.
I will ping you with app id if the problem recurs. (btw, I don't see any way to non-publicly send you my app id.)
