We are using Struts 2 in a couple of projects (e.g. http://www.kanalnio.se). With a couple of tweaks (getting rid of struts.xml url mapping, using Guice for dependency injection) it actually works quite smoothly.
I've also tried Play Framework and it's really easy to start with and straightforward. We moved away from PF due to scalability issues (our project grew to large and precompilation stopped working).
