Hello, We have been using GAE backends for a month and they are a huge help for our app to run heavy processing tasks for reporting, data cleanup, etc.
Currently we deploy the same exact app as our regular GAE app to the backends (pointing appcfg to the war directory). The main issues with that are that: - crons of the main app are running on the backend as well - it is a large compilation and deployment (close to 3K files) even though the backend only needs a handful of web services, no GWT, no static web content, etc. What is the best solution you are using to avoid these 2 issues? Do you use a "war-backend" with the WEB-INF and duplicated conf file and JArs that need to be kept in sync? Suggestions for something better would be awesome.
