Well, darn. Bastian Hoyer said "not directly.. you can only use http requests on port 80 or 443 (ssl)
The only thing you can do is add a php script on your server that acts as a proxy for your app. " And since that will probably slow things down, and be hard to work with, I think I'm going to have to hold off on the App Engine until I make my own forum.
