I am puzzling over the dashboard for my app and have a few questions:
1) How do I convert between megacycles and CPU Hours?
a) Don't I need to know the clock speed of the machine in
question?
b) Wouldn't it be nicer to choose one metric and stick with it, at
least within the dashboard?
c) Shouldn't the unit chosen match the unit being sold (CPU Hours,
in this case)?
2) Under 'Current Load,' the dashboard displays the mysterious value
'Avg CPU' but fails to given hint about the units used (megacycles?
CPU hours? CPU seconds?) or the period over which we are averaging -
is this usage per second? per minute? per hour? per request?
And one conclusion:
Making some good decisions about the units in use both internally and
in presentation would go a long way to making the quota and dashboard
numbers correct and reliable.
