You may want to take a look at firepython 
http://github.com/darwin/firepython/tree/v0.4

Firepython isn't quite debugging (stepping, breakpoints, etc), it's a
way to get info, warning, etc log messages into firebug console. Now
it even has profiling although I haven't tried that part yet
