I wish I could tell you the answer. I remember when I first mapped a domain it took me quite a number of hours over a couple of days before it "worked". From memory I think I started creating temp.mydomain.com and temp2.mydomain.com before it allowed me to map www. At one stage I deleted everything and started again.
