update: _____________________ The issue described above is solved. It seems that the yaml module path needs to be explicitely stated.
I created the variable PYTHONPATH (System Properties (=Start rightclick MyComputer Properties), Tab Advanced, button Environment Variables, lower box button New, Variable Name = PYTHONPATH, Variable value = C:\....\appengine\lib\yaml\lib, Restart) and the ImportError disappeared.
