You can use the Google Checkout Java SDK, and the new polling API cf http://www.mail-archive.com/google-appengine-j...@googlegroups.com/msg00827.html and http://code.google.com/p/google-checkout-java-sdk/
For Paypal the java sdk they provide should let you integrate it easily https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=developer/library_download_sdks I hope this helps.
