I cannot agree more.

Had I known this kind of downtime before, I would have not chosen GAE, at
least not on MS datastore.

Yes, I can switch to HR. Right now, my app costs about $2 a day, 1.99 is cpu
charge. Plus, I need to create a new app, make the current datastore
readonly, copy data over, do a couple rounds of tests, and adjust my
reverse-proxy to point to the new app.

I know I have to when dealing with the complains from customers becomes more
painful than switching. Hopefully at that point, Google can make the
switching just a button-click away...
