GAE was updated to v1.5.0 about 48 hours ago - I had problems with a change to the (python) webapp framework, other people are seeing task queues mis-behaving slightly. You can download the pre-release of v1.5.0 dev server (doesn't contain all the changes that were deployed to production) and review the change notes etc.
