Yep. So while you get a logical name now  some time in the future all your
names are likely to be interesting hashes… especially since many of the good
names were taken by domain squatters when GAE was a great way to get high
quality in links from static pages.

If I understand the App Engine documentation right, there is no way to
re-use an application name. It seems to be burnt forever.
