I *think* the scheduler might be killing instances more aggressively in the past day or so. I've seen and heard about some pretty strange behavior in the past day or so.
You're graphs seem strange, especially the qps graph. I saw someone else posting similar graphs a week or two ago. I never heard about a resolution.
