Right. Google to offer a legitimate solution is one side of the story. The other one? Conspiracy! SNI was there since 2007 (even earlier) and yet it's not supported by all browser+OS combinations as of today. Clearly, browser vendors do not want this to work because it's easier for governments to spy on their citizens.
