Yeah,

I started getting the same error after the 1.2.2 update 
with urllib.openurl() on local google image urls, ex. 
http://127.0.0.1:8000/_ah/img/R1Nll8ogyPMhflC97557FINBa9ayDVbeLxZQaftluySzN1k1Rm0EoaHhX2ENVgHT

This doesn't affect server side deployment.
