You can use pipelines: https://github.com/GoogleCloudPlatform/appengine-pipelines to chain things to run after a MR job. One of the included examples does this: https://github.com/GoogleCloudPlatform/appengine-mapreduce/blob/master/java/example/src/com/google/appengine/demos/mapreduce/entitycount/ChainedMapReduceJob.java
