We are indeed working on providing Node.js language support for App Engine Standard. It is still in the early access stage and you can try it by filling out the Early Access request form <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfV3XU7RbzE-mz5V297xSPjNEMg6jwjlnVw7a2lSc-_P6cOmw/viewform> which will allow the Quick Start <https://github.com/GoogleCloudPlatform/nodejs-docs-samples/tree/master/appengine/hello-world/standard>example to work for your project.
