The feature to write-protect / password-protect a version is not yet currently supported. In that regard, I encourage you to submit that feature request here <https://issuetracker.google.com> as described in this article <https://cloud.google.com/support/docs/issue-trackers> so that proper attention and weight will be given to it. You can also refer on this thread as background to the request.
