Hi, I am having a bit of an issue with the Vacation Responder in the Google
Settings API. I have built an application that uses the Gmail Settings API
for my company to set up Vacation Responses for when people are out of the
office and want an auto-reply. When rolling it out to the entire company, we
encountered a pretty big issue.

When setting up an out of office reply through gmail there are a couple of
different options to select.
First, you decide whether or not to turn it on or off, then choose the start
date. And then, there is an *optional input for an end date*. Herein lies
the problem. We have previously had our IT department set up all out of
office replies for everyone, so an end date was always selected for the out
of office request. The problem is, the current configuration of the vacation
responder remains turned on if the end date has passed. Thus, the API
returns *enabled value of true even when the API is no longer sending
automated responses*.

I tried to* turn off the vacation responder using the API, but when it gets
turned off, the end date remains*. Thus, the next time you try to use the
API to enable the Vacation Responses, it will not work because the end date
remains in the past and there is *no way using the api to retrieve/set the
end date*.

Please let me know if there is any way to resolve this or if there is
another forum I should be contacting. Thank you for your help

Phil
