Hello,

We have a customer (not in our reseller console) with a Google Apps Domain 
that has only one account, and the person would like to rename that account.

Is it possible to rename the administrator account using the provisioning 
API?  My guess is yes.  My only worry is that since we do not have access to 
the domain through the reseller console, if something went wrong, they could 
be locked out.

I proposed adding an alias and then setting that as the default sender, but 
he would prefer to rename the account.

So the question is, on a Google Apps domain with 1 user, can the 
administrator rename his own account with the provisioning API without 
issue?

I have searched and seen that people have done this, but it was ambiguous as 
to whether or not they had backup administrator accounts or not.
