Ok, thanks Prashant. I guess I was hoping to avoid having to post to all
those different places J. Also, I sometimes have trouble telling for sure
whether some problem belongs in the 'common' code or not (this is one of
those things that does appear to be so);  so perhaps I should also try
posting to the google-base-api forum.

That either seems to be a gotcha (for which you probably get the bragging
rights to be the first to file a bug!) or an undocumented restriction. But
since there are no experts at Docs, Sites or Calendar on here, I'd refer you
to one of the pertinent forums to ask the folks directly. You know where to
