It is worth noting though that IMAP is typically slower than the Email Migration API (repeated tests over two years for us suggest 4-10x slower) and large amounts of "unusual" activity via IMAP can lead to a 24-hour account lockdown. These factors can be controlled/mitigated somewhat but its worth being aware of them.
