Hi Jay, That's a really good idea. Implementing it might be slow going, but I'll see what we can do. That changedetection site looks pretty cool.
We're constantly tweaking the documentation, often in response to questions asked here. Most of the changes are clarifications of existing features, so they don't rate a blog post. But you've definitely shown some good examples of when a simple change notification would help. Jay's really one of the star contributors to these forums, so I'm sure he knows this already, but for those of you following along at home, here are the currently supported ways to get notified of changes: 1. *The Google Apps Developer Blog*: http://googleappsdeveloper.blogspot.com/ We try to announce new features here and any other cool tips and tricks. 2. *Google Apps Downtime Notify*: http://groups.google.com/group/google-apps-apis-downtime-notify This mailing list/group is where we let Google Apps developers know about any current problems with services. 3. *Star an Issue*: http://code.google.com/a/google.com/p/apps-api-issues/wiki/IssuesTab?tm=3 Apps-apis-issues issue tracker is where we track bugs in the APIs and where developers can report service interruptions. When you find an issue that is the same as yours, you can click on the "star" to make it gold-colored, and then you will be notified of any changes to that issue. When you see the issue status go from "New" to a number, then you know we are also tracking the issue internally at Google. There is no automatic link between internal issues and external, so sometimes the problem will get fixed (or new feature added) days before we update apps-apis-issues, but eventually we will update the ticket and you'll know about the change. I've added a new issue about this request for change notifications. Please star it if you're interested in the feature. http://code.google.com/a/google.com/p/apps-api-issues/issues/detail?id=2825 /Rufus On Tue, Oct 18, 2011 at 12:35 PM, Jay Lee <[email protected]> wrote: > Hey Guys, > > It'd be great if there was some sort of changelog for the API > Documentation.
