Hi Felix, This setting is available in the Groups Settings API. See:
http://code.google.com/googleapps/domain/group_settings/v1/reference.html and look on the page for: entry/apps:allowExternalMembers/text() note that the following setting in the Google Apps Control Panel will need to be checked in order for you to be able to change this setting via the API.
