Hi Jim, I'm not entirely sure how the geocoder works with the API, but I assume it is using some variation of Google Maps (which produces results): http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Sault+Sainte+Marie&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=52.285401,95.361328&ie=UTF8&z=13
To be completely safe, I would use either one of the variations that work or latitude/longitude pairs.
