I see. No, the service unavailable message did not refer to an http 503 error. All I had gotten as description was: " com.google.gdata.util.ServiceException: Service Unavailable An unknown error has occurred. ....." (followed by the Java stack trace). Thanks anyway (I think I'll have to cross my fingers hoping not to get it again :-(), -Patricia
