the url schema for google-base api queries is well-defined:
http://code.google.com/apis/base/docs/2.0/attrs-queries.html
http://code.google.com/apis/base/docs/2.0/reference.html

i believe s2 search syntax from the google-base search application
has nearly nothing to do with the api -- those url's are "messy"
because it's an external exposure of google's internal constructs;
its syntax is mostly google's proprietary intellectual property.

there's using google-base structured-queries and the yahoo-pipes
url-builder or there's also the yahoo-pipes google-base-source.
