quite the opposite.

use your unique-product-id as the g:id
during the api insert.

use the same unique-product-id as the id
attribute value within the ftp feed file.

ignore the atom:id returned from google --
that's an internal google-base identifier.

although, storing the returned atom:id for future
reference or use in other contexts is a good thing.

that said, i wouldn't flip-flop between
ftp and api -- it's fraught with danger
unless all attributes, types, and values
are kept exactly lock-step.
