Ahh, thanks very much! The platform I'm working on is a bit rudimentary, and it turns out the HTTP library I'm using doesn't even support HTTPS. :( Too bad there isn't an HTTP response like "You need to use HTTPS" instead of a cryptic redirect. Back to the drawing board.
