Your own code can easily be written in VB.NET, but you just use the google api as a reference. You can not tell me that your corporate policy is to not use anything written in C# (that would include parts of Windows...).

Beside that, i would also assume that porting the C# code to VB.NET should be a LOT easier than porting php code....
