Hi,

I agree that the explanation in the developer's guide isn't
sufficient, so I've filed an issue to get the documentation updated.
It looks like you figured out that the 'basic' projection is read-only
and the 'full' projection is read-write.  For more information on
projections, check out the projections section of the Calendar Data
API Refernce Guide (http://code.google.com/apis/calendar/
reference.html#Projection).
