Hi, You can use one of the APIs to create events in a google account that you can then review and move to different calendars etc...
http://code.google.com/apis/gdata/overview.html I tried the PHP one but it seemed fairly limited and got more mileage out of the protocol way of doing it. To the most extent it works ok but not all settings in your gmail calendar settings are propogated to your embedded calendar i have not found out why yet...
