Here is what we are trying to achieving for our application...

We want to create our own web service to create, update, delete events to
Google Calendar...This will be deployed into web sphere 6/JDK 1.5..

We create sample test application for this...this application runs fine on
windows..but don't on unix box sitting behind firewall...

it throws "unknown protocol https" error...

After talking with system administrator..came to know that all web traffic
must be blocked by firewall..

in order to access google, need to create firewall rules for ip range to
allow traffic..

Is there anybody came across this situation? what they did to fix this
issue?

Like for example, there are thousand of ips google server...so if open up
one specific ip range..then does it guaranteed that it will hit wihin that
ip range..

Please reply if you have any idea.

Thanks,
~Amul
