I'm reasonably sure the "&" (as opposed to a plain "&") isn't the problem, because I only get this problem with the holiday calendar. If I execute the exact same query for my personal calendars the max-results parameter performs its job correctly.
(I think the translation into "&" would be a little hard for me to prevent, because I'm doing this thru the java.net package in an Android environment. Any time I construct a URL object it always converts "&" to "&", like it or not.)
