Hey all,

We seem to be having some very sporadic problems when pulling the google
calendar XML feed via PHP's simplexml_load_file function; Normally, this
works fine, and we have no problems pulling the various events present,
however on some occasions, we receive strange/international characters in
the place of the date text. Here are some examples:

Ϣōń Fĕb 14, 2011 (Should read: Mon Feb 14, 2011)
Ŵĕď Ϣāř 2, 2011 (Should read: Wed Mar 2, 2011)
Ţĥů Āpř 28, 2011 (Should read: Thu Apr 28, 2011)
Ţĥů Ϣāŷ 5, 2011 (Should read: Thu May 5, 2011)

The url that we are using is:
https://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/gcds.myubcard.com_r52bt8lf1c1t90n24cdlu17140%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic?orderby=starttime&sortorder=a

(it also throws the same characters when visiting the vanilla feed at:
https://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/gcds.myubcard.com_r52bt8lf1c1t90n24cdlu17140%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic

)

The country for the calendar is set to the United States, and the time zone
is Eastern Standard Time
