You can't register a callback against your application for when the event
has changed.

What you can do is to use the etag or last modified date of the calendar to
see if the calendar has changed. If the calendar hasn't changed, then none
of the events on it have. You can then use that information to determine if
you need to check if any events have changed since you last checked. Then
you can see if the event you are interested is among those.
