Jose,

I suspect that you are out of luck since comma, pipe, plus, and a few
more have very specific meanings to the API. Though, thinking about it
a little more, it might be possible for the API to have an &lang
parameter or something like it that indicates to the API that comma is
being used as a decimal separator. Of course you'd then need a
replacement character for the 'normal' comma separator that the API
currently uses in your data, etc.
