Sorry, BA, but I could not get @H working either -- looks to be either a bug or a case of the documentation needing revision.
Have you looked into using hidden data series to display additional data? Basically, you specify the number of data series to use when generating the chart, and any other data series are invisible but can be used to position markers. Here's a quick example: http://goo.gl/klJNa It may not work for you in this scenario but it's a good piece of functionality to know about.
