there's Graph::Easy, but it isn't really set up for syntax trees as such

[S] -> [NP1] -> [Graph::Easy]
[S] -> [VP]
[VP]-> [V creates]
[VP] -> [NP2] -> [ugly syntax trees]

there are a lot of things one can adjust, about decoration and line
thickness etc. Graph::Easy becomes SVG, or several other formats.
