hi,

I am concerned about the Page Ranking of GoogleCode Project Sites. As
I really use this site not only for Project Management but also to
promote the project I would like to know what Google Experts do say
about the problem with the URL, or what URL should we post to achieve
a higher Rank in Google Results.

I always spread and give away: http://openmeetings.googlecode.com
(Cause its human readable)
But actually from my experience I _should_ give away:
http://code.google.com/p/openmeetings
Cause that is how Google Crawler does Index the Project Page.

This is the query I'm running to check at which page I am listed:
http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=de-de&q=Open+Source+Web+Conferencing&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
=> Page 9 ... nobody will goto that page. There are a number of Pages
that do directly link to me before the actually Project Page. Page
Rank tool says I have PR 6 of 10. That is better then 99% of all items
listed before but anyway...

So what would you recommend? Do you think it matters if the Link to
the Project Page is *openmeetings.googlecode.com* or *code.google.com/
p/openmeetings* or do you think it has no meaning at all?

And are there plans to completely be able to switch to the *human
readable* URL so that *openmeetings.googlecode.com* is not just
forwarding to the actual page, you really can browse the project by
using that URL.

thanks,
sebastian wagner
