Hello I recently tried creating a project on Google Code called "Profiteer". The aim of the project is to make a profit calculator for the game EVE Online. I received a message saying that the name Profiteer was already used by an open source project on SourceForge, and the maintainers of that project would have to allow me to use the name.
I then looked at profiteer.sourceforge.net and there is a project there, named that. The project describes itself as "Profiteer is a general use set of libraries and interfaces to perform technical financial trending analysis on a set of data.". So the two projects have nothing in common besides choosing the same name. The SourceForge project was created in July 2007, has one CVS commit with nothing in it, also from July 2007, and contains nothing else, besides the title and description. I have been unable to get into contact with the maintainer of the project. Is there any way I could be allowed to create Profiteer on Google Code, seeing as the SourceForge project is defunct and doesn't look like it ever was anything? Thanks in advance Best regards, Bjørn Madsen --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Hosting at Google Code" group.
