Hello, Below are some questions found in yourFAQ page. I am contacting your regarding libkml project which was hosted on googlecode and later moved to github
In these cases we take a look at the project and ask ourselves some questions: *How long has the project lay fallow? If less than 6 months, don't be optimistic about being assigned ownership of the project.* The project is inactive for a long time. see the below links http://code.google.com/p/libkml/issues/detail?id=161 https://github.com/google/libkml/issues/4 *Is there something "fishy" about the circumstances of the request? People squat project names much as they do DNS names.* (need to be decided by googlecode) *Is there code in that project? If so, it is much less likely that we will reassign ownership of that project to you except for the purpose of continuing development of that code.* The purpose is to continue development in an open source way (I mean as individual and with free software developers around the world provding time resources for development and maintenance) *Is the project scheduled for deletion? If so, we'll likely just give it to you.* No idea. tried to contact the people in other ways. *Is the project you wish to take over a spam trap or hosting malware or simply not open source?* the project is not spam and not properitary, It was infact, contributed to open source by google itself *Have you made an effort in good faith to contact the current owners? What, if anything, did they have to say in reply?* I made effort to contact developers but no response for a long time. Recently a user on github has tried to contact Chris Dibona as mentioned in the github issue #4. https://github.com/google/libkml/issues/4 *Has one of the original developers died or otherwise dropped off the grid in some fashion that you can describe to us?* No idea. the project is from google *Have you hosted malware, spam or non-open source content on Project Hosting before? If so, don't be optimistic that we'll cooperate.* No. Once you have considered these items and if you still wish to attempt to take ownership of a project or its name, please email us at [email protected] and let us know about it (include a description of how and when you attempted to contact the project's current owners). We usually bring these issues to resolution in a couple days.
