It was possible to solve only B, C or D to qualify. That is to solve one of three problems which is similar to previous qualification rounds.
Yet A was added and that allows you to have a chance to get 20 extra points, and I think overall it was easier to qualify than in the past. In fact, you only needed the small inputs in A,B and C to pass and it was overall very doable.
