This thing was not mentioned clearly. It was edited very late after I asked
a question on the same.
It wasn't clear earlier whether we had to delete the sulist starting and
ending at these 2 characters or the whole list till then. In all examples
and sample code, the 2 opposing chars came at starting and end, so either
way  the whole list got cleared, but still the point was not clear.

They edited the problem statement afterwards to include the line
"After you invoke an element, if it isn't immediately combined to form
another element, and it is opposed to something in your element list, then
your *whole element list* will be cleared. "

So people who had attempted it earlier thinking the other way round got a
wrong answer.
