That being said, our system is different now than in 2018 and it's possible that old time limits are now too loose or too tight depending on the problem. Specifically, the new backend is slower to compile some languages, which means that a 5s time limit may not be appropriate if the problem were used today. Remember that compilation time is currently being counted as part of your overall time (for compiled languages) so if compilation is taking close to 5s, it's possible that random noise can make the judgment oscillate between CTLE (when it takes more than 5), TLE (when it takes less than 5 but close to it, leaving not it enough time for running) and something else (when it does finish everything). We are working on improving the system to reduce variance, and we set our time limits to ensure intended solutions pass despite that variance. Improving the system continuously unfortunately means that some time limits of the past may not be appropriate anymore one way or the other.
