In our Education Edition domain, we have over 270,000 user profiles to hide from Contact Sharing, and are submitting batch Profiles API updates to toggle the gContact:status to false. We planned to multi-thread 8 processes, but once we started, we ran into 503 user over quota errors.
We scaled back and are running only 2 processes, and have not encountered the issue. However, we are hesitant to increase the number of threads lest we encounter the 503 error again. We have not seen any documentation on quota limits for batch updates using the Profiles API.
