Hi, with the new 5.8 version of Google Desktop this is now possible. There is a new detailsview flag gddDetailsViewFlagNoFrame which does exactly this. See the release notes http://code.google.com/apis/desktop/docs/releasenotes-v58.html#detailsviewflag
